Categories and sections
National, politics, business, sports, entertainment, district news or any section list you set. Each category and tag gets its own page with its own title, so a section can rank in search on its own.
Rizer designs and builds the kind of news portal website Bangladesh publishers need: category sections, a breaking-news ticker, separate logins for reporters and editors, ad slots, share buttons and the technical setup Google News looks for. Articles load as finished pages on a phone. 8+ years, 120+ projects, rated 4.9 from 50+ reviews.
We have not built a news portal for a client yet. This is the editorial section of Accessible Trip Brazil: recent posts, categories and 16 long-form guides across 6 language editions, served as static pages with 0 broken assets.
6 parts every online newspaper or news portal needs before its first story goes live.
National, politics, business, sports, entertainment, district news or any section list you set. Each category and tag gets its own page with its own title, so a section can rank in search on its own.
A strip at the top of every page that shows the stories an editor marks as breaking. The editor adds or removes a headline from the panel and the ticker updates without a developer.
Reporters write and submit drafts. Desk editors check, edit and publish. An admin manages accounts, categories and ad slots. Each person sees only the screens their role allows.
Article pages are sent as finished HTML with compressed images that load as the reader scrolls. We check speed and Core Web Vitals on the live site at launch.
Positions in the header, the sidebar and between paragraphs for ad network code or banners you sell to local advertisers. Each slot has a reserved size, so the text does not jump when an ad loads.
Share buttons for Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger and X, plus Open Graph tags, so a shared link shows the headline, the lead image and a summary in the post.
These are the steps we usually set up in the editor panel, adjusted to how your desk works.
Google decides which sites appear in Google News, and nobody can promise inclusion. What we control is the technical setup Google reads, and we build all of it.
Every article carries schema markup with the headline, lead image, published and modified times and the author, generated from the fields the reporter fills in.
A separate sitemap in Google's news format that lists articles from the last 2 days, updated each time a story is published, alongside the full sitemap for the archive.
Each reporter has a page with their name, role and published stories. An about page, a contact page and an editorial policy page say who runs the portal.
1 URL per story, canonical tags, no duplicate tag pages and no broken links. Trip in Brazil, a site we built, was audited at 100% Semrush Site Health across 313 pages.
Each of these 4 projects contains a part that a news portal needs.

In-depth articles with heading structure, real photography and links into the commercial pages. The whole site is static output on Cloudflare Pages, so no database or CMS runs when a reader opens an article.
240 routes, 228 indexable, 0 broken assets

13 articles tagged into 109 topic pages, the same structure a news portal uses for tags. We moved the site off a website-builder template with 51 permanent redirects and kept its search rankings.
182 routes built, every old URL mapped

An 18-screen admin workspace where staff manage content, users and approvals. Student work autosaves through dropped connections, the same protection we give reporters filing drafts.
Submit, review and approve built into the admin

Typo-tolerant search in Bengali and English, and every page rendered as finished HTML at the edge, so content appears before any script loads. A news archive search can work the same way.

Many news sites start on a WordPress newspaper theme. We build on WordPress or in custom code, and these are the differences to weigh.
A news portal is a web app with logins and roles, so we set the timeline once the features and sections are agreed.
You describe the portal: sections, languages, team size, ad plans and any existing site. We follow up with a quote.
We agree the section list, homepage blocks, editorial roles, sitemap and look and feel.
Homepage, category, article and author templates, designed at phone width first and then for desktop.
The editor panel, ticker, ad slots, sharing, structured data and news sitemap, on WordPress or custom code.
Old articles imported with redirects from every old URL, then QA on phones and desktops and speed and SEO checks.
Ongoing changes based on traffic, search and ad data once your desk is publishing daily.
We do not publish prices, because 2 portals rarely need the same build. These 6 things decide the quote we send after the free call.
A portal with 5 sections and 1 article layout is a smaller build than one with district pages, photo galleries, video pages and live updates.
A single admin login is simple. Separate reporter, editor and admin roles with an approval queue add screens and testing.
A Bengali edition, an English edition or both. Our multilingual work runs up to 6 complete language editions on Trip in Brazil and Accessible Trip Brazil.
Moving thousands of old articles means importing text, images and authors and redirecting every old URL. Rio Day Trip needed 51 permanent redirects.
Ad network code, direct banner slots, newsletter signup, analytics and Meta and Google tracking.
WordPress or custom code, and whether we also produce the logo, brand and launch copy. Our website cost page explains these factors for any site.

No company can promise that, because Google decides which publishers appear. We build what Google reads: NewsArticle structured data on every story, a news sitemap, bylines and author pages, clear published and updated times, and about, contact and editorial policy pages.
WordPress suits a desk that already knows it and needs standard features. Custom code suits a portal that needs very fast article pages, custom editorial roles or a layout no theme offers. The trade-off is that a custom build costs more up front and some changes need a developer. We build both.
Yes. Each language can be a full edition with its own URLs, menus and section pages, linked with hreflang tags. Trip in Brazil and Accessible Trip Brazil each run 6 complete language editions, and NextGen Mobile's search handles Bengali and English.
We map every old article URL to its new address and set permanent redirects before launch. We migrated Rio Day Trip from a website-builder template with 51 permanent redirects, and it kept its search rankings.
A standard business website takes about 2 to 4 weeks. A news portal has logins, roles and an editor panel, so it takes longer, and we set the timeline once the sections and features are agreed.
Not yet. We have built the parts a portal is made of: long-form article pages, tag and topic pages, multilingual editions, admin panels with approvals and fast edge-rendered pages. Each is documented in a case study on this site.
